Shorecrest Preparatory School Reviews

This is an incredible school. Far beyond any expectations I could ever dream. The teachers are excellent, some with MASTER degrees!! The campus is virtually all new. The classes offered during and after school are fantastic! The Headmaster and all of the Division Heads are personable and genuine. School work is definitely above grade level to public school. There is a strong influence on writing, the arts, and sports. I would highly recommend this school!

This school was ammazing for college preparation! I've seen teachers set aside time to personally talk with students and parents. Plus, they are as experienced as any proffessor. Not only does Shorecrest have an amazing academic program though, it has afterschool athletics and a great student body! Take my word for it, I was a student!

The teachers at Shorecrest are the best. The Upper Division teachers prepare the students so well for their college classes that my son ended up tutoring many of his classmates on how to write papers, study, etc. Additionally, the teachers have great relationships with their students and the kids stay in touch for many years. Our experience has been outstanding!

This is a great school! They understand how to prepare our kids for the future.

Teachers have great credentials but are not skilled at teaching. Most are professionals that lack the passion and gift of truly being able to reach and inspire children. Teaching is a calling not something ones does for a tuition discount. To date, there are no programs for challenge gifted students. Perhaps an OK school for average student with above average motivation. This school should be so much more.

Our experience has been great. All of the teachers our children have had in the Middle and Lower Divisions were dedicated and challenged our children in every way. Facilities are wonderful, with significant athletic opportunities. Unlike some other comments, I have thankfully seen the school enforce rules and requirements equally and fairly regardless of one's wealth.

The school has little regard for the students. Parents that are major contributors have their own agenda and freely impose their will on teachers and administrators. The school is great at teaching students that if you have enough money, you can control almost any institution.

Below average marks for some new LD teachers this year... Lots of teacher turn-over in the Lower Division school. Some new teachers are not so nice... A disappointing year....

The school is fabulous for academically driven students. The school is established in the community and operates like a well-oiled machine. While the school embraces and celebrates the arts, the rigorous college preparatory program (starting in about 3rd grade) comes first! This includes multiple hours of homework. A child must fit the traditional mold and be driven, or will not survive; Nor, have the time to enjoy the arts or co-curricular activities that are offered. Wonderful for some, but beware.

Shorecrest is an institution committed to providing students with opportunities to grow intellectually and morally, to find artistic fulfillment, to achieve physical fitness and to develop a sense of their responsibility to local and global communities. It is an excellent school, with a low student teacher ratio, and committed faculty and staff. An excellent place to prepare the leaders of tomorrow.

Impressive school. Faculty and parents are particularly warm and caring for such a prestigious school. Test scores are high and they teach at an advanced level.

I can't say enough good things about this school. In addition to the usual subjects, the children participate in art, Science projects, music, Spanish and more on a weekly basis. Emphasis is given to timely, worldly topics, as well. The faculty and parents are all warm and caring individuals. Fabulous school!

Shorecrest has probably the best history of any west-coast Florida prep school. The size is great because it is small enough to maintain a great teacher-student ration, but large enough to feel like a school whereas many smaller private schools tend to feel quaint. Athletic competitiveness is an A+. Shorecrest has a serious committment to winning. Also has a decent arts program. The campus, which has recently been largely redesigned (and more is on the way), is beautiful.
